Dr. Holly Horan is an assistant professor of anthropology and a birth and postpartum doula. She recently worked alongside colleagues in Puerto Rico to conduct a student on perceived maternal stress. Holly also recently served as the program coordinator for the Community Doula Program, a Medicaid-funded program providing doula services to priority populations in three counties in Oregon. Holly serves on a number of boards for community-based organizations and non-profits that focus on improving perinatal health in Alabama and elsewhere in the United States (US). She currently serves as co-investigator on a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant and the National Institutes of Health Consortium grant, both of which focus on improving access and expanding perinatal care services and support in the state of Alabama. She is the director of the Collaborative Perinatal Care Lab (Co-Care Lab) - a space committee investigating perinatal health, health advocacy and health modeling for special populations including pregnant people with substance use disorder or a history of substance use. Holly is committed to improving perinatal health care in the US and US territories and is grateful for the collaboration of brilliant partners and students in this work. |
